FAQs

Can an ingrown toenail be treated without surgery?

Yes. In mild cases, Rachel can treat an ingrown toenail by carefully cutting back the corner of the nail, along with advice on footwear and nail cutting technique. Surgery is only recommended for recurrent, longstanding or severely infected cases that have not responded to conservative treatment.

Treatment may include stretching exercises, footwear advice or a custom orthotic insole.
